Channel Administration

Need to add a person to a channel within Team CORUS?

This article discusses the methods through which edits to channels are made. Settings are often based on team preference and edits can be accomplished in several ways:

  1. Room owner
  2. Shared password
  3. Join request
  4. Email support

Room Owner

Often the responsibility of maintaining a channel is given to a departmental administrator. In Team CORUS, we call this a room owner. The room owner has the ability to add other members to or remove other members from the channel. If this describes you, instructions are located here.

If you were a room owner in PING, we want to hear from you immediately. Please contact [email protected] and let us know which Team CORUS channels are yours. We will take care of the rest.

Shared Password

Other times, the individual is responsible for adding or removing himself. For teams like these, a password and instructions are shared to the group. These users then become members of the channel, capable of seeing all messages that are sent to the channel. If this describes you, instructions are located here.

Join Request

If you do not have the password to add yourself to the channel and you do not know who the room owner is, you can also click the Request to Join button. Doing so sends a request to the room owner to add you to the channel.

Email Support

When all else fails, email Team CORUS. Simply tell us the channel to which someone needs to be added or removed and the person’s JHED ID.
