What is a direct message?

A direct messageĀ is a private conversation between two or more Team CORUS users. This conversation is only visible to those users.

When you search for an individual person or device, you initiate a direct message with them. No one else can join or be added to the conversation.

Message notification occurs automatically within a direct message. If the person you’re trying to reach is away, busy or invisible in CORUS, they’ll receive an alert on their preferred mobile device. If the recipient has no mobile device, Team CORUS will send a notification to the person’s Hopkins email account.

You can continue an existing direct message conversation in Team CORUS simply by clicking on the room in the left panel under the DIRECT MESSAGES heading.

Tip

There is an “info” panel in each room. Expand the right sidebar and you’ll see the members of the room as well as their current CORUS status.
