What are CORUS channels?

A channel is a pre-defined group to which you can send messages. These include department groups, hospital units, and more. Members come and go from channels, so consider them public in the sense that any CORUS user may be added to or removed from the channel at any time.

Nonmember

If you’re not a member of the channel…

  • You may send to the channel
  • You cannot view any of the messages sent to the channel other than your own
  • Offline notifications are sent by default

Member

If you are a member of the channel…

  • You may send to the channel
  • You may view all messages sent to the channel
  • Offline members of the channel must be mentioned to receive notification

Because channels may contain hundreds or members, channel search is turned OFF by default. If you’d like to send to one, you’ll need to turn on the channels option to find it.

From the search results, select the channel to which you’d like to send.
